Thanksgiving in New York 2019

After a year hiatus, we are back in NYC again.

Went by the Vessel in Hudson Yard on the way to High Line Park in Chelsea. Then took the subway to Chinatown for Hop Kee (Thanksgiving dinner) and Taiyaki NYC for desserts.

Went to the Vessel with our tickets the next morning. Went shopping with my sister in the afternoon. Dinner at Toni's Di Napoli: Family Style Italian Restaurant. Siblings and parents had broadways shows for the night. I just went around Times Square and to Rockefeller Plaza.

Thanksgiving in New York 2017

This year, we're in Chinatown again eating at Hop Kee and Taiyaki NYC for desserts.

The next day, we went to Jollibee in Queens, then to the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum near Central Park. We walked around part of the lake at Central Park.

Went back to our hotel then ate at Carmine's for dinner. My sister and I watched the Book of Mormon. Parents watched Anastasia. We met at Junior's afterwards for desserts.

My Thanksgiving Week

My family usually spend Thanksgiving in New York City. We tried the whole "having a big feast with out of town relatives" thing, but they live out of town and don't get to come over. So we started doing our own tradition, going to New York City. We explore the museums, Central Park, Rockefeller Plaza, Chinatown, Park Place, Broadway shows, Time Square, etc. We turned it into a sight-seeing Thanksgiving trip.

We're doing something different this year. We're visiting Disney World and Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida, primarily seeing The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. It's been 5 years since all of us went there.

I didn't take as many photos as I normally do, but I recorded a ton of clips from Wednesday to Friday. Actually, towards the third day, I didn't take as many videos and just took photos, posting them to my instagram.

I've compiled my videos below on a YouTube playlist, starting with clips I recorded from five years ago. I had them lying around in my external harddrive so I figured, "why not use them?"

My Thanksgiving in New York with Family

Long post is long. Below details what I did for Thanksgiving with family. I'm placing the video somewhere in the middle.

I was in New York from Thursday to Saturday afternoon. We stayed at Affinia Manhattan near Madison Square Garden. We purposely arrived at around 12 noon so we would miss the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade on 34th street. We also ran into the Heintz Ketchup van giving away free fries and ketchup in their new packaging (patent still pending). After getting settled in the hotel, we met with my aunt and went to Chinatown to eat at Hop Kee Restaurant. We ordered lots of food. We finished most of it. I was full full. Afterwards, we went shopping for a bit, bought food and then went to Broadway street to watch Promises, Promises.
