How My Mind Works

I just finished watching The Blindspot after watching Gravity Falls and Supergirl. I started up my PS3, but wasn't sure if I wanted to play a game. So I went through my Facebook feed. Several minutes of that and I went to read my news feed and go to sites for entertainment and reading. There was a link to a YouTube video on historical European martial arts documentary. They mentioned Asian martial arts and somehow it reminded me of a very distant memory of a Filipino movie, Ang Lihim Ng Golden Buddha (The Secret of the Golden Buddha). It's a semi-autobiographical movie based Yamashita's Gold rumored stolen during World War II and hidden in various caves and other locations throughout Southeast Asia. These treasures were stored and encased in Golden Buddha statues. So I looked up the movie online and remembered the actor playing the lead role. I don't remember much of his other movies, but I mistook him for another actor who played the son of the devil in another Filipino movie. I also looked up that movie online. This movie came out in 1989 and I thought it was one of the scariest movies I've seen. Then again, I was 5 and I haven't seen It.

Much of what I remember from the Philippines were bits and pieces before I was 1 years old, to my childhood and graduating primary school in the 6th grade. It's weird how random things just open a can of worms in my head. I also remembered the lead actor and the lead actress in the movie, but I didn't want to continue going down this rabbit hole if I wanted to get some sleep tonight.

I'm done.

Jogged Down Memory Lane... Literally

So I was still awake at 6. Out of nowhere, being spontaneous, I decided to put my running shoes on and went outside the house for a jog at 6:15AM. The woods and plant life in the hiking trail have grown enormously since the last time I've been here. I jogged 1/2 a mile in 5 minutes. I haven't been able to do that since ever. After that I walked and jogged alternately towards the public swimming pool which is about 3/4 of a mile away from my house through the jogging pathway in our neighborhood. I walked/jogged again towards the opposite end of where my house is and found myself in the playground.

I haven't been in this playground for a long time. Last time I was here was 4 years ago. My ex and I came here one fine afternoon and relived our childhood memories playing in the swings and pushed each other on the swings. A few months ago I'd probably get all sad and depressed. As I approached the playground and the swings and pull-up bars, I just smiled and thought to myself... those were great memories.

Positive Output

This person I subscribe to in Xanga talked about how we want to look good for someone we like. This reminded me of what I learned in Psych 101. I forgot the proper psychological term (any psych majors need your help) but it has something to do with producing a positive output out of something. The example the professor gave to the class at that time was "instead of hitting on your teacher whom you have a crush on, why not study and get good grades so she'll praise and notice you more." I think I was the only one in class that was doing a fake laugh at the time cause that's exactly what I did in high school.
