Summer Vacation 2012 - Part V

Starting off where I left off roughly 4 months ago with part 4, we just ended our cruise. We got on a shuttle bus that took us to Vancouver. It wasn't a bad drive. It went by pretty fast. My cousin recently moved to Vancouver with her son and her boyfriend. We planned the meet up along with our cruise vacation plan. It just so happens that our cruise ended on July 1st... Canada Day.

Many people proudly displayed the maple leaf... as well as the "leaf." There was a whole section of a government building full of tents supporting medical Marijuana.

Canada Day... also Cannabis Day.

We actually booked tickets for a good view in the pier in Vancouver Harbor in Canada Place to watch the fireworks later that night. Before that, we watched the parade.

It was a very diverse parade.

We ate at the closest food court in Canada Place. We only had 30 minutes before they closed all the stores inside. I didn't get to eat much. We waited at the pier and found a nice spot to watch the fireworks. The fireworks lasted for 20 minutes.

The streets were packed after the fireworks. There was a long line on the metro/subway station. I'm glad our hotel was close by... About 10 blocks away.

The next day, we went to Vancouver Aquarium. Followed by Gastown and Chinatown. I got hugged by a bum. I got scammed $20. Some parts of Chinatown smelled like weed and piss... like most inner cities. It was all good.

We ended the night by eating at Nando's and Tim Hortons!!! Overall it was a great vacation.

I'm done.
