Nier and Far

I'm currently working my way through this action-RPG NIER by Square-Enix. This is a highly underrated game. It doesn't have the next gen graphics that everyone expects from games like Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 or Final Fantasy XIII, but this game has all the makings of a good action role-playing game.

Without giving too much away, 1,312 year earlier, the technological world seized to exist with much of the human population trying to fend off creatures known as Shades. In the present day of the game, human population has dwindled and living in smaller villages just like in the Middle Ages. Ruins of the past (concrete buildings, steel bridges) scatter the world.

There's a plague known as a the Black Scrawl. It is believed to be the reason that wiped out most of humanity. The people don't remember much about the past and they don't understand most of the technology and books written about it. There are a few of them that are trying to understand the mountains of books in the ancient library in the village.

The main character's daughter is affected by the Black Scrawl and he's trying to find a way to cure her. in his journey he encounters a talking book named Grimoire Weiss. He seems to know about the Black Scrawl and might be the key to stopping it. Along the way they also encounter this character named Kaine who's dressed in her undergarments for most of the game (Haven't beat it so who knows).

The banter between Nier, main character, Weiss is one of the best in any game. The person you hear in the opening of the game (in the video above) is KainĂ© (pronounced Kai-Nei... Kai as in 'buy,' and Nei as in 'hey'). Her and Weiss don't get along.

Currently I'm going doing side missions like farming, fishing, and requests from various people while progressing the main storyline.

More updates as the story unfolds.

I'm done.
